Vapona Insecticide

Vapona Insecticide

"The Exterminator"

Kills ants, cockroaches, flies, fish-moths, moths, mosquitoes, fleas and lice. Independent laboratory tests have proved a 100% knock down effect for up to 90 days.

First introduced here in 1965 and well known in the world of insecticides, the Vapona brand in Africa has been owned by Acorn Group since its acquisition from Shell Chemicals in 1996. The current range includes Vapona ‘Room’ and ‘Cupboard’ Exterminators and Vapona ‘Bin-Kill’ as well as the Vapona-Ag Strip. Innovative new products are also being added in the near future.

All Vapona products are safe for use near people and domestic animals, due to the low concentration of its active ingredient, a pesticide known as Dichlorvos (DDVP).

The ‘Room’ and ‘Cupboard’ products consist of an insecticide impregnated PVC strip, packed in a heat-sealed aluminium envelope, allowing a shelf life of up to 5 years.

Once opened and utilised in its aerated cardboard holder, the pesticide is released through continuous vaporisation to create an effective insecticidal atmosphere lasting for up to 90 days.

Vapona Bin-Kill works in similar fashion to the ‘Room’ and ‘Cupboard’ exterminators, but its resilient aerated plastic holder is stronger to withstand more movement and severe use. Each pack includes a strong cable-tie that is used to fit the aerated holder securely to the lid of any standard wheelie bin.

Developed specifically for use on banana plantations, Vapona-Ag is a pesticide impregnated plastic strip with a fumigant action for the control of banana thrips and mites. All Vapona products are registered with the South African Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) and are manufactred in a strictly controlled environment.
